Some Ayurvedic Tips to Get Quick And Good Sleep

These days, sleep deprivation and insomnia are very common problems faced by many people. Such a problem is usually faced by people because of the ever changing lifestyle and work pressure. However, one must never forget that sleep is the most important factor of a body's health.

Sleep not only helps people in staying physically healthy, but it also helps people in managing their emotional balance. According to Ayurveda, it is not at all recommended to spoil your sleep time for any other work, be it enjoying the nightlife or office and home work.

Ayurvedic Cycle of body

According to Ayurveda, our body follows a daily cycle, which should be maintained to get good sleep. The day is divided into four phases with six divisions. These six divisions consist of three doshas namely - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. As per the Ayurvedic cycle, the day should start at 6 A.M and should end at 10 P.M. This would definitely help in maintaining the body health.

Some Ayurvedic Tips for Good Sleep

  • The sleeping room should always be neat and clean. Clean room helps in keeping the mind at peace.
  • Make sure that your room is sound proof, if not possible, you may use earplugs so that the sound does not disturb you.
  • Washing your feet just before going to bed also helps a lot. If you have ample time, you may also do some foot massage on your own.
  • Fix the sleeping time. This helps in setting the natural body and the mind clock.
  • The sleeping posture is also important in getting good sleep. Initially, you should sleep on your back, then after one hour, sleep on to your right side and then after other one hour, sleep on to your left side. This will help you in maintaining the sleep and body posture both.
  • Most importantly, avoid using mobile or watching TV or for that matter avoid using any gadget before going to bed.
  • Maintain a low diet dinner. Low diet at night helps your body to have a lighter experience and it induces natural sleep.
  • Having a glass of milk at night helps to get a good sleep. It is better to add turmeric to the milk because turmeric is a very good antioxidant too.
  • Avoid watching anything negative before going to bed. Watching horror movies at night is also not recommended.
  • Exercise daily. You may do sun salutations on a daily basis to keep your body fit.
  • Avoid habits of smoking and alcohol consumption. These habits might disturb your body routine and also affect negatively on your health.

Ayurveda is a way of healthy living. If you feel tired at the end of the day and find it difficult to sleep, it is an alarm to your body that you are not maintaining your body clock properly.
