Ayurvedic treatment for strengthening memory power is multi-faceted. Ayurveda recommends a daily routine of Yogic Asanas, meditation and Pranayama to improve the concentration and sharpen memory. Ayurveda suggests daily balanced diet, sufficient sleep and stress relieving activities to promote good memory. It also suggests mental exercises like solving puzzles to enhance the memory.
Various herbal concoctions and medicines can be used to enhance the memory. They are as listed below
- A mixture of one teaspoon of honey and half a teaspoon of cumin powder can be taken twice a day
- Almond and milk - Almonds are considered to be a strong memory enhancer. A paste of 10 peeled almonds that was soaked in water overnight needs to be mixed with 250ml of milk. This mixture needs to be boiled, with sugar and ghee to enhance the taste. The resultant mixture should be taken when it's lukewarm. - A mixture of a pinch of cinnamon powder with a teaspoon of honey taken daily before sleeping can also be helpful. Cinnamon rejuvenates the nervous function and improves memory
